Breadcrumb navigation bar
In the various pages for viewing hospitality establishments and their culinary offerings—both in list view and on the map—you’ll find at the top of the results a navigation trail (or breadcrumb).
This breadcrumb shows you the entity in which you’re conducting the search and lets you redefine your search scope to higher or lower levels.
Territorial entities in Spain are organized hierarchically as follows:
- Autonomous Communities and Autonomous Cities (the former are regions with their own government and legislative powers within the Spanish State; the latter are special‑status territories that perform both community and provincial functions)
- Provinces (territorial divisions that group municipalities and serve as an administrative link between the communities and the State)
- Comarcas (intermediate territorial groupings between a province and its municipalities, which typically share geographic, historical, economic or cultural characteristics)
- Municipalities (the basic local entity with its own town council, responsible for services and ordinances within its boundaries)
- Collective Entities (subdivisions of a municipality in some parts of Spain—parish, concejo, pedanía, etc.—that group together smaller population centers and may have local governing bodies)
- Population or Locality (a clearly defined habitable area within a municipality that has its own name)
- Population Nucleus (a contiguous group of at least 10 buildings—or, exceptionally, more than 50 inhabitants—even if there are fewer than 10 buildings—that form streets, squares or other urban routes within a defined boundary; a locality may consist of one or more nuclei)
- Postal Codes (numeric identifiers for geographic areas, used to sort and deliver mail, support geolocation and validate addresses; each municipality has at least one code, and larger urban areas will have multiple codes dividing their territory for postal and statistical purposes, whereas rural areas often share a single code across several villages)
- Zones and Neighborhoods (not necessarily administrative divisions, but commonly used in larger towns and cities to identify areas with their own local identity within the locality)
When a search is performed using “Near…” based on the user’s geolocation, the longitude and latitude will be displayed, and you can redefine the search radius (in kilometers) for establishments and/or their various culinary offerings.
